PayChangu makes it simple to issue refunds for transactions when needed. Whether it’s a duplicate payment, a cancelled order, or a customer request, you can initiate refunds quickly and track them in your dashboard.
Log in to your PayChangu dashboard.
Navigate to Transactions → All Transactions.
Use filters to find the transaction you want to refund. You can filter by date, payment type, status, or reference.
Click on the transaction to open the details view.

Click the Initiate Refund button.
A popup will appear asking you to:
Select Refund Type: Choose full or partial refund.
Enter Reason for Refund: Provide a short explanation (e.g., order cancelled, duplicate payment).
Click Submit Request to process the refund.

Once submitted, the refund will appear in your transaction logs with the status Processing.
The customer will be notified via email once the refund is completed.
Refunds are processed according to the payment method used by the customer (mobile money, bank transfer, or card).

Alternatively, you can manage refunds from Transactions → Refunds:
Locate the refunded transaction.
You have two options:
a. View Refund Details – See chargeback information including reference ID, status, amount refunded, fees, reason for refund, date submitted, and date processed.
b. View Transaction Details – Access the full transaction analytics and logs, including activity before and after the refund.

Communicate with your customer to confirm that they have received the refunded amount.
Use the reason field to keep clear records for accounting or disputes.
