PayChangu charges a small fee for each successful payment processed. These fees cover the cost of processing payments across mobile money, bank transfers, and card networks.
Transaction fees are charged per successful payment and are deducted automatically. Typical fees include:
Mobile Money (Airtel Money, TNM Mpamba): 3% per transaction
Bank Transfers: 2% per transaction
Card Payments (local and international): 3% per transaction
Fees are applied immediately when the payment is received.
The amount credited to your settlement or main balance is net of fees, so no separate payment is required.
There are no setup fees
There are no monthly fees
You only pay fees when you receive payments
All fees are transparent and automatically reflected in your account balance
At PayChangu, transaction fee adjustments are considered based on the overall nature of your business and payment needs.
Factors that may be considered include:
Your business model and industry
Your processing volumes

Overall operational and risk considerations
In some cases, PayChangu may arrange a discussion to better understand your business and how you intend to use the platform.
After onboarding, businesses may be placed on a trial period (typically around 3 months) to assess performance and alignment with initial expectations. Following this, fees may be reviewed and adjusted where applicable.
